Building your own storage cabinet is not a difficult project. And the result is often just as beautiful. In this project, Hendrik shows how he made his own storage furniture for next to his desk. He used sawn MDF and birch plywood.

Description from Hendrik

Multiplex boards ordered to measure, screwed together, tested for gluing beforehand and rejected. Large compartment suitable for folders. Small compartments for storing the keyboard. Edges finished with sandpaper.

How I made this project

1) Selection of the material. A white surface was important, a nice look. So the choice fell on multiplex. 12mm material thickness selected to have a certain stability but at the same time a lightness.
2) Fine-tuning and planning of the exact dimensions on the PC using Sketch-Up. This is freely available. Dimensioning is also possible.
3) Screwing, as an internet search suggested not gluing. Holes marked and pre-drilled. The cabinet was secured with screw clamps before drilling and screwing.
4) Successful acceptance by the wife.
