Custom kitchen cabinet made of solid beech, by Daph

We had an empty space in the kitchen, between a cupboard and the refrigerator. There was a cove with a sloping wall, so that required a custom solution.

The biggest challenge was the slant of the wall. The horizontal planks were sawn to size, lengthwise and widthwise, so it fit perfectly. But I sawed out the sloping part myself so that it would fit exactly against the cove. I first measured everything, then made a template from cardboard, then measured a few more times and adjusted the template. Then a plank was marked and sawn. It fit well and I was able to continue with the other three.
