Description
I made a shallow cupboard in the hallway with 25 Trones shoe bins from IKEA, two long drawer rails and a load of wood from opmaatzagen.nl. The bins are ideal for items such as waste paper, cleaning products, office supplies etc., and because they are shallow (16 cm) they do not take up too much space from the walkway. In the corner there is a hidden door for long, narrow things (such as glue clamps).
Work description: how did you realize your project
Hanging the bins was fairly easy. The IKEA Trones bins are not nice on the sides, so I finished this with planks from opmaatzagen.nl, which I had nicely rounded. It was all so simple that no working drawings were needed. In terms of time, painting was the largest component. The challenge lay further in the (hidden) door in the corner. After trying a number of hinges, which just didn't fit because the size of the opening is simply too narrow to use kitchen cabinet door hinges, I finally settled on a drawer rail. The door now slides out completely at 45º from the wall/cabinet. There is a double bottom in the corner, so that the items in it do not have to rest on the bottom hinge.
Final size: What are the outside dimensions?
190.0 cm x 110.0 cm x 16.0 cm +
190.0 cm x 160.0 cm x 16.0 cm
