Pimping IKEA PLATSA cupboard wall with custom sawn sheet material, by Karin

IKEA cabinets from the Platsa series are ideal for hacking. In this DIY project, Karin shows that you can make a beautiful boy's room yourself with the necessary creativity (and the basis of IKEA and custom sawn panels).

I made a cupboard wall for my son. With four functions: a seat, bookcase, storage space for toys and wardrobe. The white parts are platsa parts from Ikea.

How I made this project

I used the platsa series from IKEA as a basis. I first assembled and attached these cabinets to each other. I attached the top right part to the wall. Then I made and painted the bookcase myself. I also had the plank on the seat cut to size and painted. The seat is 1.60 meters wide, spacious enough to sit comfortably. Finally, I finished the furniture with cabinet lighting that I had left.
