Description by Wout

I dismantled these attic stairs with cracked steps and renovated.

How I made this project

For this customer, 1 stair step was broken, 2 stair steps were torn because the upright in which the steps were placed was warped. Due to the bent upright, the steps have come out of the milled connection in the wall. Because they were only connected by the nails, the steps started to crack. I removed the upright and recreated it from a pine beam. The milling connections are exactly the same as the curved beam. Then I ordered 3 sheets of 40mm plywood from this online sawing service. These were sawn to exactly the same size as the old steps that were torn and broken. The stairs were neatly placed step by step in the beam and neatly anchored with a screw connection instead of a nail connection.
