What have you made?

Six-frame hives for honey bees, complete with six-frame brood chambers with roof that can be placed on top.
These hives are needed in the spring to prevent the peoples start to swarm. I make the cabinet model that I like to work with myself because the right size and design are not for sale.

How did you design the cabinets?

First I collected the sizes of the standard windows that will be hung. The required bee space was then determined and recorded in three directions in combination with different hive stacking options. I drew the whole thing in a technical drawing program (AutoCAD). I then put all the necessary parts, complete with quantities, into the Excel program and sorted them by type of material. The cabinets are stacked on top of each other without locking. The dimensions of the sawing work are therefore precise.

What are the dimensions?

4 pieces 46.1 x 24.2 x 25.5 cm
1 piece 46, 1 x 24.2 x 14.8 cm
8 pieces 46.1 x 24.2 x 22.6 cm
1 piece 46.1 x 24.2 x 14.8 cm
