Pimping IKEA cupboard with robust oak wood, by Mario

We have given the playroom in the attic a little more 'luxury' by placing a solid worktop on the Ikea cabinets. The children can now put things on the cupboard without worries. No more scratches!

Solid oak worktop

Have the solid worktops cut to size. The worktops are sanded smooth by hand. First with a coarse grit. Then with a fine grit. The worktops placed on top of the cupboard. Make sure that the worktops are neatly placed on the underlying cabinet. Then the worktops were glued with silicone. The worktops are clamped with a glue clamp so that they can no longer move. Also screwed in a screw on the inside of the cabinet. The next day the glue clamps were removed. The screws remain in place.
